Petta is a Tamil action drama directed by Karthik Subbaraj, produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures.
The film was officially announced in February 2018 under the tentative title Thalaivar 165.
The film’s title was releases as “PETTA” with a motion poster on September 2018, creating significant buzz among fans.
Along with Thalaivar Rajinikanth the movie has an ensemble cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, M. Sasikumar, Simran, Trisha & Megha Akash.
The film also has an additional cast of Malavika Mohanan, Mahendran, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Aadukalam Naren, Munishkanth, Sananth.
Petta marked the Tamil debut for the Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui and he gave an impressing performance.
Vijay Sethupathi's inclusion generated major attention, playing the character Jithu Singh.
